Yolanda M. Padula of Freeport, (formerly of Massapequa NY) on September 13, 2024. She died of a broken heart nine days after her beloved husband, William’s death. They were married for 70 years. Music was in her blood. She was related to the Venezuelan composer and pianist, Teresa Carreño and spent her life promoting music and music education. Executive Director of the Nassau Symphony Orchestra, the National Grand Opera and the New York Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. Publisher of Educational Art Tools for music education. She was a dedicated volunteer to many local organizations, most recently the Massapequa Women’s Club. She was a first generation Latino American. Her father was a diplomat with the Argentinian Embassy in Washington DC. Loving mother of Laura Schofer (Andrew), Lisa Wenglicki, and Donna Cameron (John). Devoted Nanna to Drew (Suzie), Morgan, (Lorenz), Nicholas (Morgan), Johanna (Jimmy) and Marissa (Steven). She leaves behind 7 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Reposing Sunday, September 22, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 23, 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Massapequa, NY.
