Reposing Tuesday, August 3, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford, NY (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 4, 9:30 am at St. William the Abbot R.C. Church, Seaford. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

Daughter of the late James and Emily Carroll
Beloved wife of 70 years of the late Robert Schneider
Ginny was one of seven children. She was born in Brooklyn in 1925 and 1 year later her family relocated to Cecelia Place, Seaford, NY.
In 1928 St William The Abbot was officially a parish with the assignment of pastor Rev. Francis DeBold. He rented a home around the corner from the Carrolls.
In 1929 The Stock Market crashed and brought tragedy to many families. Her father, James worked on Wall Street and she recalls he supplied milk to the families with children.
Ginny and Robert Schneider (Bob) were married by Fr. William Hanlon in 1947 at St. William The Abbott. They lived in a subdivided piece of the Carroll property on Cecelia Place. Their home faced John St. They had 5 children who attended the parish school and received all their Sacraments and were all married in that Church as were most of their grandchildren. Ginny and Robert lived in that house for the rest of their lives and celebrated 70 years of marriage. Robert predeceased her in 2017.
She was an avid knitter, crocheter and seamstress. Every child, grandchild, great grandchild ...every bride and groom in our family started their new life wrapped in the warmth of her handmade blankets of Love.
She leaves behind her 5 children Rianne Berdick, Ginger Cerniglia (Tim), Robert (Wanda), Betsy Setzler (Bill) Matthew (Bea)
