BAHR – Stanton F., on September 21, 2021, at the age of 95. Born and raised in Seaford to Vera Harriet (Smith) Bahr and Albert William Bahr, Sr.  Dear brother of Albert William Bahr, Jr.  Also survived by 4 nephews and a niece.  He completed his elementary education in Seaford Schools and graduated from W.C. Mepham High School in N. Bellmore.  He was a proud WWII U.S. Navy Veteran (1944-1946) serving on Guam under Admiral Chester A. Nimitz, Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.  He enjoyed singing and was a member of his local church choir, high school acapella choir and U.S. Navy “Boot Camp” choir.  After discharge from the Navy he attended and graduated from Centre College in Danville, KY with a B.A. degree.  While there he sang with Centre’s Tour Choir.  He was a member of the Obiter Scripta Literary Club, Phi Kappa Tau, and Omicron Delta Kappa, and was listed in “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities”.  He took great pride in his hometown and was instrumental in the celebration of the 325 th Anniversary of the founding of Seaford and wrote the Seaford Historical Book.  The establishment of the Seaford Historical Society was a result of his efforts.  He was the president for 7 years.  The Museum opened in 1976 after what he termed “a 10 year labor of love”.  It was Seaford’s Gift to the Bi-Centennial.  Memorial Visitation Friday, 2-6 pm at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc. 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135).  Inurnment will take place Saturday 10 AM at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2025 Washington Ave., Seaford, NY 11783 or the Seaford Historical Society, 3890 Waverly Ave., Seaford, NY 11783.
