Russell T. Dackow passed away December 3rd at age 58, leaving us far too soon. Born on November 18th, 1963 to John and Edna Dackow and survived by his brother Johnny Dackow, his sister Anne Marie Feilinger, his niece Marielle Feilinger, and his nephew Tristan. To his friends and family, he was lovingly known as Rusty. Charismatic and kind at heart, Rusty led his life with kindness. A prolific guitar player, Rusty was a proud member of numerous rock bands, including M.I.A., Kickback, and countless other jam sessions with his friends and bandmates. To know Rusty was to know fun, and the man often raised the bar on what it truly meant to party.
In youth, Rusty, nicknamed “Doola” by his two older siblings, Johnny and Anne Marie, was known for his energy and wit. Before he started his lifelong passion for guitar and music, Rusty was very active in sports and Karate.
In spite of his copious energy, Rusty had a gentle soul. While a night out with him could end with a court date and a hangover, his willingness to help others and his love for his friends and family was enough to quell his wild side.
Rusty will without a doubt be missed by all of us, and while he was taken too soon, he certainly lived his life to the fullest. In lieu of tears on this occasion, please laugh, tell stories, and throw on your favorite rock album for our beloved Brother, Uncle, and friend.
Rock on Rusty.
