Robert J. Brennan
March 19, 1956 – August 9, 2024
Beloved husband to loving wife, Maria, of 41 years. Daddy to his furbaby boy, “Tucker”. Godfather to Kimberly and Amanda. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York by his loving parents Netta and Bob, (who preceded him in death) along with his brother, Tom, and sister, AnnMargaret. Bob joined the 70th Precinct in New York City Auxiliary Police Department as a volunteer for 20 years and promoted himself to Auxiliary Deputy Inspector, during which time he received numerous awards. He then worked for 7 years for NYC mayors, Koch and Dinkins, as their Community Affairs Director. These 7 years were followed by 23 years with the L.I.R.R. as Director of Government and Community Affairs. Bob was a great roller hockey goal tender, and one year, their team won the championship. He was also an avid member of many classic car clubs throughout New York. With his extended family and friends, Bob enjoyed fishing, and cruising with his 30 foot SeaRay Boat. The love of his life, besides his wife Maria, was his beloved support dog, “Tucker”, who gave him so much love, joy, happiness and comfort during his 8 ½ year illness. Tucker was adopted on September 4, 2014 from the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh. Bob was a loving and caring husband. He is now in peace and in no pain. He is finally walking again in Heaven with his parents, grandparents, uncles and his dog, Tucker, who, incidentally, passed away 1 month before Bob.
