Richard "Ricky" Fedyk

It is with deep sadness that the family of Ricky Fedyk announce his passing. Beloved Husband of Diane. Loving Godfather, Uncle, and Cousin. Dear brother in law of Kent. He cherished his Godchildren, Michael, Krista, Nephew Kyle and Vincent. Loved his nephews, Kristofer (Caitlyn), Kory (Elly), Godson Kyle and Kraig.

Our family was very fortunate to have our Goddaughter, Giselle, live with us for over 10 years. A wonderful bond was formed between Giselle and Ricky, and we considered Giselle our "Daughter". They were extremely close and there wasn't anything they would not do for each other, Giselle's Husband, Hector, along with their children, Alexa and Jonathan had a treasured relationship. Hector and Ricky bonded over football and boxing.

Ricky loved the company of his friends and had deep friendships formed over many years. He would reminisce and tell stories and jokes which his nephews and Godchildren thoroughly enjoyed and waited for him to tell whenever they saw him.

His Mother, Blanche instilled the love of reading, and he enjoyed it so much he could be found at the library sometimes twice a week.

Ricky was in Gymnastics at Sewanhaka High School and was the Captain of the Gymnastics team. He was a top contender on the rings and Top 3 in NY State Championship on rope climbing. Ricky was also in Golden Gloves and enjoyed boxing but preferred the fight contenders from years ago. He enjoyed the gym.

Ricky was in the US Army, worked at Board of Elections in the early days, then Building Maintenance at LIJ Hospital before retiring.

During the summer months you could find him swimming and relaxed in his off-peak hours at work to take advantage of his pool and the ocean boogie boarding with a friend.

Ricky loved music when younger & single would travel to NYC with his friends and enjoy all the city offered in Blues and Jazz, Doo Wops, lately Country music but his favorite was Elvis. He got to see him once in concert. Ricky also enjoyed playing the Blues harmonica.

We loved antique hunting for Lanterns and Lighthouses and dancing the Lindy.

Ricky was a good cook and a great host at many BBQ and pool parties over the years.

He inherited his Mother's Polish Easter Brunch and had a following of his friends enjoy the unique flavorings and tradition he put forth.

We enjoyed many travel adventures by car, ferry and cruises, having fun traveling with many of the different groups of friends.

Ricky was rich with love and friendships and had a full life and in his famous words "Not for Nothing" Ricky was loved and will be missed by all. We will love him always.
