Phyllis Ann (Cooke) Hadorn, 75, of North Merrick, NY, on Thursday, June 30, in Washington, DC.
Born on March 21, 1947, in Brooklyn and raised on Chauncey Street, she taught pre-school before dedicating herself to raising a family in Seaford, NY. Phyllis later spent 20 years helping single mothers in her community obtain child support while working in Nassau County’s Department of Social Services.
She is survived by her son Richard Hadorn, daughter-in-law Diana Castaneda Hadorn, and grandson Benjamin Hadorn of Arlington, Virginia. She is also survived by her daughter Jennifer Hadorn of Mt. Sinai, NY. In addition, she is survived by her loving sister Carol Cooke, brother Robert (Minerva) Cooke, sisters-in-law Dorothy Cooke and Diane Hughes, companion William Keats and many nieces and nephews, including her beloved godson Brian Schiazza. She was predeceased by her beloved older brother, Donald Cooke.
