Patrick (Pat, Pasquale, Patsy) Chiaravalle was born October 9,1928 to Leopoldo and Carmella.
The youngest child, raised in Brooklyn with his brother Dominick and beloved sisters Nancy and
Catherine.
He told stories of little jobs he did as a young man but made his career as a “peddler” with Dun
& Bradstreet. There, he made many lifelong friendships but most importantly met his bride,
Loretta.
Pat and Loretta married in February of 1955 and started their family in Howard Beach before
moving to Seaford. Stephanie, Robert, Maria and Gabriella all enjoyed their father’s passions to
varying degrees. Shows in NYC, international foods, church functions with St. William’s friends,
and, of course, the beach.
In their younger days, trips to Jones Beach hauling the heavy red Coca Cola cooler and later
glorious long summer days ... .mornings through evenings at Malibu. Watching the sunset,
serving drinks and appetizers before grilling up the next big meal.
So many special memories with his friends, children, grandchildren and the children and
grandchildren of friends
Tennis, tobogganing, bodysurfing and backgammon.
Bickering with Robert over the Giants, Jets or Yankees, Mets.
Pat was a joker and storyteller. While we’d roll our eyes over the ones we’d heard a million
times, somehow new stories were revealed to our great surprise right til the very end of his
days.
Our loving father went to rest with our Lord and Savior on December 31, 2023. He was
predeceased by his parents, siblings, his beloved wife Loretta and his son Robert. He is
survived by his daughters Stephanie (Serge) DiSegni of NYC and Jamesport, Maria (Sal) Maita
of Long Branch, NJ, Gabriella (Chris) Bonocore of Little Silver, NJ and his seven adored and
adoring grandchildren: Gianna Maita Edwards (Michael), Anthony, Isabella, Sophia and Leo
Maita, Olivia and Luca Bonocore.
