Nancy Ruth Mettz of Farmingdale, NY passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023. Beloved life partner of Thomas Patrick Dooley. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Merritt Mettz and Leta Mills Mettz and sister Jacqueline Annette Nassar Mettz. She is survived by her brother David (Mary Beth), sister Kay Alpaugh (Ted) and Tom’s sisters, nieces, nephews and great-nephew who all loved her dearly. Nancy was born in Shreveport, LA and was a graduate of Louisiana State University. She was a retired Petroleum Landman. Nancy loved traveling, volunteering with many organizations dedicated to the preservation of historic sites and records and to charitable works, painting, drawing, knitting, needlepoint, gardening, being with friends and spending her summers with Tom on Flanders Pond in Maine...her favorite place in the world. Nancy was President of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century and Registrar of Colonel Aaron Ogden Chapter NSDAR.
