In Memory of MICHAEL T. ALLEVA

June 22, 1953 — December 16, 2022

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of Michael T. Alleva on December 16, 2022. He will be loved and missed eternally in the physical world by his loving wife, Karen Alleva; His four sons Daniel, Brian, Christopher, and Anthony; His daughters-in-law Lori, Leah, and Alissa and his beloved grandchildren Madalynn, Olivia Jane, and Benjamin.

Michael was a life-long New Yorker and Seaford resident for over forty years. He married Karen Ann McKenna, also a life-long New Yorker and Seaford resident, in May of 1976. He worked for thirty years with the United States Postal Service until he retired in 2006, first as letter carrier—where he would dress as Santa Claus every year to bring holiday cheer to those on his route—and then later as a vehicle maintenance manager.

He loved the beach and the ocean and was happiest along the shores of Long Beach Island, New Jersey. He loved old monster movies like Dracula and The Invisible Man and liked listening to records by the Beatles and the Allman Brothers. But above all, he cherished his family and the rich legacy of memories they shared. Moments that he will share in spirit with us as precious new life enters this world carrying his surname.

He is reunited in the afterlife with his mother, Dorothy, and father, Michele; his adored mother-in-law, Helen McKenna, and the others we forever keep in our hearts and minds.

Reposing Tuesday, December 20th, 2-4PM & 7-9PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc. 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford, NY (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 21st 9:30 AM at St. William the Abbot RC Church Seaford, NY.  Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery Farmingdale, NY.
