It is with heavy a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marilyn R. Odell of Wantagh. Marilyn was the beloved wife of Spencer W. Odell, devoted and loving mother to Julie, Jennifer and Spencer, cherished grandmother to Charlie, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Jake, Michael, Catherine, Madeline and Charlotte, and a wonderful aunt to Michele and Gavin. She was a beautiful soul whose life was defined by love, kindness, laughter, great storytelling, her love of music and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the life of the party and so much fun to be around. As a wife, she was a loving partner and source of strength; as a mother, she was a guiding light whose unconditional love shaped the lives of her children; and as a grandmother, she brought immeasurable joy and warmth to her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest blessing, and the love she gave them was the greatest gift of all.

Sadly, dementia gradually took so much from her, leaving behind a heartbreak that words cannot fully express, yet she always managed to smile or make a silly face even when she could no longer find the words to express herself. She will always be remembered for the wonderful woman she was long before the disease affected her life—the warmth of her embrace, the sound of her laughter, her generous heart, and the countless ways she made those around her feel loved. Though dementia may have taken precious memories from her, it can never erase the lifetime of beautiful memories she created or the love she planted in the hearts of those who knew her.

Her passing leaves an immeasurable void, but her legacy of love will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. She will forever be remembered for the love she gave, the family she cherished, and the beautiful life she lived. May she now rest peacefully, free from the struggles of dementia, knowing that she will be loved and missed beyond measure. Forever in our hearts, her love will never fade.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd, 2026 between 4 and 8pm. Funeral Mass to take place on November 3rd, 2026 at 10:45 am at St. William the Abbot Church, Seaford, New York
