Marianne Bianchi (nee. Barile) passed peacefully surrounded by her family on the morning of October 25, 2024.
Beloved wife of the late Richard. Caring Mother to Richard (Gerri), Stephen (Denise), and the late Keith. Nurturing Grandma to Richard, Christopher, Melissa, Stephen, Rhiannon. Sister to the late Michael, Walter and Richard. Affectionately known as Mame (or Aunt Mame) by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Marianne was born and raised in Midland Beach, Staten Island to Anna and Michael Barile on May 17th 1937. She graduated from New Drop High School in 1955 and worked for McGraw Hill for many years. She married the love of her life on October 15th, 1960 at St Margaret Mary’s Church on Staten Island and together they raised three sons. In the late 1970’s she reentered the work force as an Executive Secretary at Staten Island Mental Health Society until her retirement. In 2006, she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where she enjoyed her retirement while working at the Don Cesar in retail.
She was dedicated to her family, friends, and her faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, swimming, bowling, and found daily comfort and hope in her Catholic faith. She was happiest when surrounded by family, particularly her grandchildren, and she never missed an important milestone. She will be deeply missed by all.
Relatives and loved ones are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 29th from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Church on Wednesday, October 30th at 10AM. Loved ones are invited to attend a Burial to follow at Moravian Cemetery in Staten Island. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization Marianne was passionate about supporting.
