Louise A. Crew

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise A. Crew, age 79, from Wantagh, NY on February 20, 2020.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born on September 3, 1940 in Manhattan to parents Frederick and Louise Laigle (nee Mazin).  Louise graduated from the Sacred Heart of Mary Academy in the Bronx, NY.  Louise is predeceased by her husband Harry E. Crew who passed away in 1985.  Louise is survived by four children Marie L. Aldridge (Michael), John F. Crew (Maureen), Christine A. Giosa (Gerard) and James J. Crew (Dina).  Louise cherished her 7 grandchildren; Michael Aldridge, James Aldridge, Janine Dover (Christopher), John Crew (Shannon), Nicole Lupola (Michael), Thomas Giosa and Allison Giosa.  Louise is also predeceased by her sister-in law Lorraine L. Sullivan who is survived by (John), her nieces and nephews Jean Marie Gephart (Brian), Laura Anne Heneghan (Jim), Barbara Anne Morris (Dan) and Brian Sullivan as well as many grand nieces and nephews.

Louise was a Realtor for many years, and then worked in banking.  She was also a CCD teacher at St. William the Abbot RC Church.  She was very involved in the Wantagh PTA, organized variety shows, contests and many school events.  She loved family gatherings, going to Atlantic City with her friends, traveling, going out to eat and the beach.  She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM  & 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, 3863 Merrick Road, Seaford, New York 11783.  A Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2020 at St. William the Abbot RC Church, 2000 Jackson Avenue, Seaford, NY 11783.  She will be laid to rest joining her husband, Harry at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
