Louis Vassallo (Sweet Lou) of Hobe Sound, Fl 33455. 87 years of age born on 2/2/36.
Went to be with the Lord and entered eternal rest on June 3, 2023, on his terms after battling a long-
time illness. He was surrounded by his wife and 4 children in his home.
Lou was originally from Bronx, NY and then grew up in the town of Elmont with his Father Enrico and
Mother Annina. He grew up with his loving brothers Harry, Rico and Pasquale along with his baby sister
Anna. He met the love of his life Geneva Stevenson when he served in Fort Knox, KY, Army division. He
married and later purchased a home with his wife and 4 children in the town of Elmont as well. Lou’s
family of men came from a long list of Butchers as his Father owned a Butcher Shop in town. Lou started
as a Butcher himself as his occupation. Working in the Big Apple, Foodtown and Stop and Shop.
Although Lou started as a Butcher he became a corporate man, supervising the meat department in and
around 8 stores in the Long Island area in NY. He was very well respected in the industry.
Later in Life he moved to Massapequa, NY where he enjoyed an early retirement and continued to make
Hobe Sound, Florida his permanent residence.
Lou enjoyed many things in life, golf, cooking, (he was an amazing chef) a good party and a great cocktail
or two. As he enjoyed many things, his most enjoyment was being with his family, and they were his
pride and joy. He was undeniably the life of the party and had an amazing smile that could lighten up
any room he walked into. He was loved by many.
He is survived by his beloved wife Geneva, the children that meant the world to him, Tina (John), Louis
(Alice), Suzanne (Ron) Angela. His beautiful Grandchildren, he absolutely adored, Louisa (Steven), Jenna,
Louis, Matthew, Amanda, Ashley. As well as his loving great grand-children Dean, Mila and Stevie. He is
also survived by his sister Anna and several nieces and nephews that loved him so.
