Louis J. Koulias

KOULIAS – Louis J., of Seaford, died peacefully at home on January 28, 2015, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Peggy Cole Koulias. Loving father of daughters Melanie and Samantha. Dear brother of Carol Freitag. Also survived by nephew Steve Koulias and niece Michelle Mercado. Lou was born in Bronx, NY on August 7, 1954 to the late Hy and Bobbie Koulias and moved to Long Beach in 1963. After a more than 20 year career in radio announcing/broadcasting, he spent several years as a stay-at-home Dad, returning to the workforce in 2000 as a Family Advocate at North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center. Lou’s wide range of interests and hobbies included electronics, music and media of all kinds, and his Mustang convertible. His passion for all of these pursuits was only surpassed by his love for his family and his many friends. Lou’s primary focus was always to enjoy each day to the fullest and to create as much enjoyment for others as possible. Family and friends may visit Today, Friday, 4 - 8 PM at the Koulias family home, 2340 Jackson Ave., Seaford, NY. Memorial Service Saturday 1:00 PM at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington, 109 Brown’s Rd, Huntington, with a reception to follow.
