Judith Walsh

Judith Walsh, 72, of Palm City, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and children.

Born on November 6, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, Judy was the beloved youngest daughter of Sabato and Filomena DePiano. She was raised in Brooklyn alongside her two older sisters, Josephine ("Joanie") and Rosie, where she developed the strength, independence, and spirited personality that would define her throughout her life. Judy later made her home in Floral Park, New York, where she raised her family and created countless cherished memories. She then embraced a new chapter in Morgan Hill, California, before eventually settling in Palm City, Florida, where she spent her later years.

Judy's proudest accomplishment was raising her two children, whom she loved unconditionally. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. Her kindness, generosity, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She dedicated many years of her life to serving others as both a nurse and a volunteer firefighter, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Outside of her work, Judy embraced life with enthusiasm and adventure. She had a passion for motorcycles, classic cars, and recreational target shooting. Whether in New York, California, or Florida, Judy had a remarkable way of bringing people together. She loved gathering around a table with good food, a glass of wine, and great conversation, and she was a gifted storyteller whose stories and laughter became cherished memories for family and friends. She formed lifelong friendships wherever life took her and had a special gift for staying connected with those she loved. She never missed a birthday and was always the first to reach out with a phone call, card, or warm wishes, making everyone feel remembered and valued. Throughout her life, Judy shared a special bond with the many dogs she loved dearly, each of whom held a cherished place in her heart. She lived boldly, laughed often, and truly lived life to the fullest.

Judy is survived by her beloved children, Justin and John; their father, Patrick Walsh; her cherished grandchildren, Mia, Stella, Leo, and Mason; her loving sister, Joanie Zubil; and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Sabato and Filomena DePiano, and by her dear sister, Rosie.

Judy faced cancer with extraordinary strength, courage, and determination. Even through her illness, she remained fiercely independent, quick-witted, and wonderfully sarcastic—the qualities that those who loved her will remember most.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Judy's life during visitation on Wednesday, July 29, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. at Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home in Seaford, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Frances de Chantal Church in Wantagh, New York, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.

Though Judy's physical presence is no longer with us, her love, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
