John Scanlon, 89 on December 24, 2018, of Seaford, NY.  Retired NYC Police Sergeant and proud US Army Veteran.  Beloved husband of the late Anne.  Loving father of Patricia White and the late John.  Devoted grandfather of Deborah, Kimberly and Christopher.  Adored great-grandfather of Michael and Makayla.  Cherished brother of Mary Ross (Martin). Admired by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Reposing Thursday, December 27th 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford, NY.  Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10AM St. William the Abbot RC Church, Seaford, NY.  Interment to follow Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.  Donations in John's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.st.jude.org
