John G. Duenges Jr. of Seaford, NY passed at home on December 19, 2022 surrounded by love and family.  John was the beloved husband of Gail (nee Cerveny), recently having celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.  Loving father of Kristen (David) Wasserman, Karen (Jason) DeTommaso, and Matthew (Julie) Duenges.  Cherished Grandpa to Jordan, Nicholas, Justin, Reese, Rylie, Anthony, Bryelle and Sloane.  Dear brother of Audrey (Vincent) Accardi and Theresa Duenges, and brother-in-law to Sharon Ryan and Joyce Von Knoblauch.  Beloved uncle and friend.

John was an Army veteran and the retired Executive Director of the Rockville Centre Housing Authority. In retirement, he enjoyed his part-time job at Lowe's.
John loved oldies music, vacations with friends and family, especially the annual beach vacation with all his grandchildren.  Always a proud Grandpa, he enjoyed supporting his grandkids' sports and activities, their educational achievements, and loved making them laugh with jokes, silly songs and attempting the latest TikTok dances.  He was always there for his family.  John will truly be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.

Visitation Friday, December 23rd 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM

Religious Service at the funeral home Friday evening.
