BUESCHER - Janet C., 84, of Massapequa, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Beloved wife of Robert, after 64 years of marriage. Loving mother of Carol B. Maxwell (James), Kim L. Faass, and Kurt A. Buescher. Cherished grandmother of Karin E. Cannata (Matthew), Sarah D. Bozorginia (Mahan), Jaqueline E. Faass, and Madeline L. Faass. Adored great grandmother of Lucy K. and Charles D. Cannata. Janet held a bachelors and an honorary doctorate from Dowling College and was known for her lifetime volunteer work, in education including Cornell Extension and philanthropic activity, as Director of the Robert and Janet C. Buescher Foundation. Long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seaford where she taught many confirmation classes. Reposing Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Religious Service Saturday 10:30 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
