BYRNE - Jacqueline Russell, on August 24, 2023, of Seaford. Jackie was the daughter of James and Helen Brennan. She was raised in Larchmont, NY and attended Mamaroneck High School. She married Bill Russell and moved to Wantagh, NY where they raised their three children, Susan, Lynn and Steven. She enjoyed the close-knit neighborhood of Emma St. and was known for rescuing fallen birds, meticulous house cleaning and running her kids around to their various activities. She later moved to the Poconos in PA with her husband Patrick Byrne. She and Pat enjoyed camping in their RV and traveled all over the country, enjoying each summer at the regional campground where she made many friends. Jackie was an avid dancer in her youth and continued dancing even when she was in her wheelchair. She enjoyed fishing in the pond at the campground and hosting visitors. She was a high-energy person, always on the move cleaning, organizing and making meticulous photo albums. Jackie spent her final years at East Neck Nursing Center in W. Babylon where she made many friends and enjoyed all of the activities they offered. She was blessed to have received loving support and care there. Jackie was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Byrne. She is survived by her three children, Susan (Bob), Lynn (Jimmy) and Steven (Barbara) and grandchildren, Christie (Kenny), Gregory (Kaleigh), Jimmy, Megan, Brian, Kevin, Erin, Danny, Tim and her beautiful great grandson, Carter James. Reposing Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford, NY (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 28, 2023 @ 11:15 AM at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Massapequa. Disposition will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the following charity would be appreciated: Last Hope Inc. Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation, 3300 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh, NY 11793.
