Hermann Robert Gallati

GALLATI – Hermann Robert, 87 (born Feb. 11, 1930) of Wantagh, NY passed peacefully in his home on Monday, July 31, 2017. Proud U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Hermann was pre-deceased by his gracious and loving wife, Marion, and dear sister, Heidi Roll. He was a beloved and dedicated father to Tom (Lori) of Bellmore, NY, and Chris (Jean) of Fairfield, CT. He was a loving, devoted grandfather to Benjamin, Leanne, Victoria, Julia, Jackson, Carter, Katie, and Griffin. He was a loving brother to Walter (Eleanor) of Indiana, PA. Hermann was honored to begin his career as a New York State Trooper and to serve for over 30 years in the New York State Supreme Court in Jamaica, Queens. He was a lifelong, avid sports fan, passionately following the Brooklyn Dodgers / NY Mets, NY Jets and UCONN Women’s Basketball. Hermann was honored to be 100 % Swiss and loved the traditions of his Swiss heritage. He loved to celebrate this with an annual Swiss Picnic surrounded by all his Swiss decendants and ‘wanna be’ Swiss family and friends. Reposing Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Charles G.
