Harold J. Sommers Iii

Harold "Sonny" J. Sommers III — passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the age of 78, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Sonny was born on January 4, 1939, in Freeport, New York to the late Harold J. and Antoinette Sommers. If you knew Sonny you knew a man who loved life, people, and laughter. He was a friend to everyone he met and thought himself fortunate if he could make a complete stranger smile. Sonny was accomplished and an artisan. By trade he was in the flooring business. It was his passion in life as he loved his work. His business, however, was always second in importance behind his family, whom he loved dearly. Sonny was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his daughters: Colleen and husband Craig Milne, Donna and husband Joseph Denton and Tracy Cox. Grandchildren: Ryan and wife Marissa Milne, Kyle and wife Hannah Denton, Travis Milne, Kurt and Grant Denton, Brenna Cox, and Jaclyn Denton. Siblings: Judy Silz, Patricia Ryan, Jerry Sommers and James Sommers. The family will receive friends Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:00 and a service to follow at Click Funeral Home, 9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37923. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11 am. at the Cemetery of The Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, New York 11590-0182.
