Gladys Phelan

PHELAN - Gladys, Passed away peacefully on October 15 after a brief illness in Florida at the age of 95. Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Harold Phelan. Mrs. Phelan was born on February 9¸1921 in Caracas, Venezuela. Raised on Long Island, she was a resident of Massapequa for more than 35 years. She was a long time employee of the Massapequa Public Library and was active in her church, St Rose of Lima.

Mrs. Phelan was a gifted craftsperson. Among her many talents were sewing, drawing, quilting , rug-making, chair-caning and the making of doll houses and miniatures. While not a sportswoman she did enjoy a good round of golf.

Loving mother to daughter MaryLu, son Terry, and daughter-in-law Pat. Cherished grandmother to Andy and LeeAnn and adored great-grandmother to John Joseph, Courtney, Shannon, Kendall, and Claire. Dear sister to Margarita Stern. Gladys brought joy and love to all her family including her nieces Sharon and Pam, her cousin Gloria and all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
