GELLING – Gilbert, on May 27, 2018, of Seaford. Proud Vietnam Veteran & recipient of a Purple Heart. Beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Michael (Melissa), Brian (Meredith), & Sara Veltre (Timothy). Cherished brother of James, Richard, Myrtle Andruzzi, Howard, & the late Mildred Mattone. Adored grandfather of Carter, Avery, Brian, Jr., & Logan. Gil will be missed by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, & his faithful canine companions, Benson & Winston. Gilbert was also the proprietor of D&G Equipment Co. located in Bellmore. Reposing Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc. 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford, NY 11783 (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Mass of Christian Burial to be held Friday 10 AM at St. William the Abbot R.C. Church. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
