In Loving Memory of Gabriele D’Orsi
Born in Corleto Monforte, Province of Salerno, Italy
June 11th, 1937 – June 10th, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Gabriele D’Orsi, a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather, loyal brother, and treasured friend, who passed away on June 10th, 2025 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Angelina for over 63 years. Loving father of Carmine (Jane), Grace Beneventano (Serafino) and Gennaro. Cherished nonno of Federico, Gabriele and Gianluca. Dear brother of Antonietta and Teresa.
Born and raised in the mountain village of Corleto Monforte in the Province of Salerno, Italy. Gabe was raised during the turmoil of World War II. He often spoke of the Nazi soldiers and the liberation from America—memories that shaped his deep appreciation for freedom, resilience, and peace. As the only son in his family while his father worked abroad in Venezuela, Gabe became the man of the house at a young age, shouldering responsibility with strength beyond his years.
A gifted and passionate musician, he played the clarinet in a local band and could also be found playing the saxophone, piano, organ, accordion, and harmonica. His music was an extension of his soul—joyful, expressive, and timeless.
In 1961, he immigrated to the United States with his soon-to-be wife Angelina, and they were married in 1962. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and perseverance. He was a proud father to three children: Carmine, Grace, and Gennaro.
Gabe was a man of many talents and passions. He was an avid bowler, a firearms instructor, a boater, a traveler, and a devoted Catholic who found strength and comfort in his faith. His deep spirituality was evident in the way he lived—with humility, generosity, and love.
One of the proudest achievements of his life was the creation of a statue of Saint Padre Pio, which he had made in Italy and brought to the United States. Believing it to be God’s calling, he worked tirelessly to establish a shrine at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic church, a place of peace and devotion. For Gabe, the shrine was more than a project; it was a sacred mission—a way to honor God and create a space where many could come to pray, reflect, and worship. To this day, the shrine remains a beloved site where countless people find solace and strength.
As a hairstylist, he had a special gift—not just for his craft, but for connecting with people. He was someone clients came to for more than a haircut; they came for his wisdom, warmth, and the comfort of knowing they were heard. He had an extraordinary ability to guide others through life’s challenges with clarity and compassion.
To his family and friends, he was a steady presence—a man people turned to for advice, comfort, or simply a listening ear. His guidance was always honest, heartfelt, and grounded in a life richly lived.
Above all, he was a family man. He was a pillar of strength and unconditional love for his wife, children, and grandchildren, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and integrity. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
