Francis J Patti died at home with his family June 2,2025 from complications of pneumonia and Parkinson’s disease. He was born 12/23/1928 to Antonino Patti and Elizabeth Szeker. He graduated from Philadelphia’s Northeast High School in 1946.
He received his BS in Civil Engineering from Drexel University, his masters from MIT. His nuclear training was received at the International School for Nuclear Science and a professional degree at Columbia.
He spent two years as an instructor for the Army Corps of Engineers 1951-1953.
He worked for many years with Burns and Roe, retiring in 1993. He spent his early retirement working on the Brookhaven Medical Research Reactor through 1996.
He was professionally involved with American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Nuclear Society. In his later years, he was a member of the Wantagh American Legion.
He was predeceased by his wife of forty-two years, Barbara Barbuti Patti, in 1999. He is survived by his son, John Patti, daughter-in-law Karen Munoz, daughter Lucy Patti, her spouse Bill Merrylees, and grandkids Ben and Eliza.
