Enzo Antony Panicali was born in Union City, New Jersey, and as a young boy moved to Corona, Queens, where he was raised by his parents (Lazarro & Elvira) and older sister Mary.
He was a member of Saint Leo’s Parish and attended public school, graduating from Newtown High School. He met Rosemarie LaSalle and they were married in 1951.
He joined the army and was stationed all over the United States and overseas in Germany.
Enzo and Rosemarie moved to Flushing, Queens where they raised their daughters, Carol and Mary.
Enzo did masonry work with his father until he secured a job with New York State, during which time he went to college at Pace University and earned his degree while moving up until he became Director of Design and Construction for New York State: Urban Development Corporation (UDC).
They spent many summers visiting his homeland, Pesaro, Italy and for a short time had a summer house upstate near Binghamton, NY; they would never go too far for too long though, as their family was truly their home and that is where they wanted to be.
