Domenick Bellissimo of Barefoot Bay, Florida (formerly Vero Beach, East Islip, and Seaford, where he spent most of his life) crossed over into eternal life on May 31, 2022.
He was born on September 10, 1921 to Soccorso and Maria (Rachiele) Bellissimo in Monterosso, Calabria, Italy.

He is survived by his stepmother, Giovanna Bellissimo, his children; Mickey and his wife, Donna; Paul and his significant other, Dora; Mary and her husband, Nick.  His stepchildren; Marty and his wife Christine; Linda and her significant other, Chuck; Ellen and her husband David.  His ten grandchildren also survive him: Sabrina And Nicholas; Cassie and Jason and his wife, Carlie; Kristy and her husband, Bishay; Deanna, Emily, Sarah, and Kristina; Tiffany, Lisa, and Ricky; as well as multiple great-grandchildren.  He is survived by his brother Silvio and his wife, Joanne; his sister Eleonora; his nieces and nephews: Jackie and her husband Peter, Lisa and her husband Joseph; Vincent and his wife Michaela; Marissa and Juliana. He is also survived by his other “children,” his dear friends of many years in Barefoot bay, Evelyn and Mike, who treated him just like their son, and by his lifelong friend, Joe McCloud. He is predeceased by his beloved mother Maria, his father Soccorso, his brother Vito, his first wife Ethel, and his second wife Joan.

Domenick was an honorable, hardworking, humble, happy-go-lucky, devoted family man who was extremely good-natured.  He was a simple man who did not need much; his pleasures included his family and friends, his immense vegetable garden, Bocce, cards, and westerns, most especially westerns starring John Wayne and “his man” Randolph Scott. Becoming a fireman at 26 years old with the Seaford Fire Department was a dream fulfilled.  He loved those fire department years and missed not being active.

He was not only a kind and loving father but also an upstanding human being.  He lived a good life throughout the many years' God has blessed him with.   He wanted to make it to 100 but said only the Good Lord knows, and I am ready whenever He is.  His trust in God was inspiring.  He knew everything was up to the Good Lord!

The good Lord called him home on May 31, 2022. Our loss, but his gain.  May he continue singing his songs in heaven, and until we meet him again, may God hold him in the palm of his hand.
