Denis Murphy

MURPHY – Denis Paul, 78, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away on February 10th, 2014. Beloved husband of Maureen. Devoted father of Denis (Maria) and Joanne Scarfo (Thomas). Dear brother of John and Joan. Cherished grandfather of Carah, Kieran, Caroline, Christina, Colleen, Liliana and adored great grandfather of Uriel. Denis was born in Jamaica, New York on May 2, 1935. He attended Richmond Hill High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1956. Denis was married on August 29, 1964 to Maureen, for 49 years. Denis retired from the F.D. N.Y. in 1996. Denis was also actively involved as a member of his Community Board in Rockledge, Florida. **Reposing Friday 7-9 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford (2 traffic Lts. East of Route 135). Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 9:15 am at St. William the Abbot RC Church. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
