Claire K. Black

Claire Black, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

Claire was born to Charles and Josephine Markners and grew up in Brooklyn and Ozone Park, New York. She attended Dominican Commerical High School and went on to build a long and dedicated career in banking. Claire worked for Roslyn Savings Bank for 20 years before retiring.

Claire was the proud mother of her only son, Larry Black, who was the center of her life. Larry, along with his partner, Marilyn Johnson, remained devoted to Claire throughout her later years. Larry served as her primary caregiver and lovingly dedicated himself to caring for her at home during the final years of her life.

Claire was also a cherished grandmother to John Black, Anthony Black, and Samantha Loy and her husband, Jason Loy. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Carter Loy, Anderson Loy, Paxton Black, and Merrick Black.

Claire had a vibrant spirit and brought joy, warmth, and laughter to those around her. She loved shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending meaningful time with her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent with loved ones in Rockaway, where family, laughter, and togetherness meant everything to her.

Claire deeply loved her family and treasured every moment she could spend with them. Her legacy will live on through the love she gave so freely, the memories she created, and the family who will forever carry her in their hearts.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
