TIGHE – Catherine G. (nee McCabe) of Wantagh, NY on October 5, 2014. It is fitting that Catherine passed this day in October, the month which is dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Catherine was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 59 and battled the disease until the age of 91. She was treated at the very special Memorial Sloan Kettering and ended her days with dignity at another exceptional facility, The Hospice Inn. Beloved wife of the late Peter Tighe. Loving mother of Michael (Marilyn), Maureen Cullen (Bernie), Patricia Lucien, Peter, and William (Margie). Adored grandmother of Shannon (Breandan), Peter, Joseph, Rebecca, James, and Ryan. Reposing Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 AM at St. Frances de Chantal RC Church, Wantagh. Burial to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
