Catherine V. Mcdermott

MCDERMOTT (Nee Arre) – Catherine V., on October 4, 2016, of Seaford. Best friend and loving wife of Thomas whom she married on October 24, 1954 and moved to Seaford with in 1957. Beloved mother of Kathleen, Thomas, Mary, John, Dennis and Claire. Cherished grandmother of 12 and adored great grandmother of 3. Born January 2, 1931 in Brooklyn to Lawrence Arre and Catherine Esposito. She moved to Islip Terrace in 1943 and was a 1949 Graduate of East Islip High School. Graduated NY Agricultural Technical Institute at Farmingdale in 1951. As a commercial artist, she worked for Philip Morris from 1951-1955. After her children were grown, she worked for Arkwin in Westbury for 19 years. She was a long time member of the St. William Rosary Society. Reposing Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:15 AM at St. William the Abbot RC Church. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. schmittfuneralhome.com
