Benny Golino

December 24, 1939 — August 15, 2025

Port St. Lucie

Benny Golino, 85, went home to the Lord on August 15, 2025.  Benny was born in Marcianise, Italy, on December 24, 1939, and at the age of 19 was the first in his family to immigrate to the United States, first living in Manhattan. After moving to The Bronx, he met and married his beloved wife, Vita Giordano, who predeceased him in 2005.  Benny and Vita were married for 37 years and had two children, Judy and Diana. Along with his wife and two children, Benny moved to Massapequa, Long Island, in 1990.

Benny was an Electrician and was considered a master of his trade.  He spent many years teaching others as well as providing guidance and mentorship to many of the young men he worked with, retiring from the Local 3 electricians’ union in 2005.

For the last 18 years, Benny shared his life with Lorenza Sorice.  Surviving are his 3 children: Ralph Golino, Judy Edwards and her husband John, Diana Impemba and her husband Dominick; four grandchildren, Vanessa Golino, Christopher Edwards, Mark, and Christina Impemba. He leaves behind siblings, sisters, and brothers-in-law, over 50 nieces and nephews, Godchildren, bonus children, bonus grandchildren, and many loyal and loving friends.

Benny had many interests and passions, including dancing, gardening, building, and cooking. He was known for his pizza, sausage and peppers, fried chicken cutlets, and fixing everything that was broken. He enjoyed fruit and vegetable shopping, eating sweets and snacks, watching karate, westerns, Hallmark movies, feeding his rabbits, going to dinner dances, and cruises. Benny was always ready for a party, and he would be the first and last person on the dance floor.  He will be remembered as the life of the party, his need to tease the children in his life, and for surprising loved ones with unexpected visits. He was always ready to lend a hand to a loved one or a friend, but above all, he was a proud father and Nonno.   He will be greatly missed.

Please feel free to share a “Benny Story” in the online guestbook.
