IPPOLITO – Anthony J., of Wantagh, NY. He was born in Queens on April 4, 1939 and raised in Corona with his twin brother, Frank. His parents, Frank and Rose (nee Cisco) were employed by some of the top designers of the time as a tailor and a finishing seamstress respectively in the NY fashion district. Anthony graduated from St. Leo’s Grammar School, Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, and St. John’s University College of Pharmacy. He began his professional career with Squibb Pharmaceuticals as a quality control supervisor. He then became Lenox Hill Hospital Pharmacy’s manufacturing quality control supervisor. Anthony side-stepped from pharmacy for a few years and opened an Italian restaurant in Queens. Eventually, he returned to pharmacy as Mercy Hospital’s outpatient pharmacy supervisor and then ended his professional career after 11 years with Hillside Hospital/LIJ. An avid runner for 45 years and a weight trainer since age 16, he became a certified personal trainer after retiring from pharmacy, which he enjoyed immensely for 18 years. Anthony passed away on January 2, 2025 at the age of 85 after long standing cardiac and kidney issues. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Barbara (nee Bockmann), and was predeceased by his parents and brother. Reposing Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025, from 10-11 AM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Inc., 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford (2 Traffic Lts. East of Rte. 135). Religious Service 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, NY.
