Our father, Anthony Gentile, or as he often referred to himself as, Aragorn, was what many, if not all, would refer to as a strong man. He battled through many medical issues throughout his life, many hospital visits, and frequent physical pain all over his body. He had a major conversion to the Catholic Faith at the age of 23, and spent the rest of his life devoted to us, his children. May my brave and brilliant father rest in peace with Jesus and J.R.R. Tolkien in heaven. Totus Tuus.- Love Maria

Not only a wonderful father, but a man not afraid to speak his mind, proudly speaking the faith as well as the hard truths this world has forgotten. - Love John Marie

My father was a strong, kind, faithful, courageous, and fearless man. He was always there for anyone that needed someone to lean on, a shoulder to cry on, hands to comfort you, and arms to embrace you. He always knew how to cheer you up when you felt down, and lift you up when at your lowest. He was a pro at turning a silent lifeless room into a a bright and cheerful room full of laughter, joy and life. He was a great teacher and an amazing role model for me. - Love Anthony Gentile

This is in loving memory of the father of our five children and our two little saints in Heaven. Anthony was truly a man who desired to be the best he could be, and often, while struggling, the image of the “Prodigal Son” remained always close to his heart. Although our marriage was a broken one that lead to divorce, I respected the man he was throughout it all. He went through many changes in his life. With his faith having been tested, and his self-identify and worth diminished at times, I saw a man so wounded… yet a man experiencing conversion to its ultimate degree, a man being formed in the fires of life’s difficulties and disappointments. He became “the Prodigal Son.” He, grieving to God the Father over his own failings, (the failings of others who left his heart shattered), and over the voids that he knew only the Father could fill, he returned to God in a very meaningful way. At least, this is how I saw it. I later began to see a man of conviction and compassion. As unexpected as his death was, what I knew to be expected was his final words to me before God called him back to Himself. It was a prayer answered, because God is a good God and Father to us all. And so the Feast for the “Prodigal Son” begins. So many will gather in just a few days, including myself and our five, beautiful gifts from God. None of us will look upon Anthony in anger or shame, but in great love and gratitude for what the Father has done in him. Both my cross and my heart, Anthony, you will be forever missed. I love you!
