It is with great sorrow that the family of Alfred Weber Jr. announces his passing on April 21, 2023, in Brookhaven, NY.
Alfred “Al” Weber Jr. was born on June 20, 1957, to Doris Weber (Moore) and the late Alfred Weber Sr. He was the oldest of four siblings; Patrick, Karen, and Christopher. Al loved growing up at their family waterfront home in Seaford, NY. He often credits his childhood days on the water as the inspiration for his love of boating, as they were his most cherished memories with his family.
As an adult, Al joined the successful family business of building new homes, leveraging his love of real estate and construction into a prosperous career. He worked almost every day but never worked a day in his life because he loved what he did. When he wasn’t on the water or at work, you could find him tinkering under the hood of a vintage car or truck. Al had a knack for making the old look new again.
In 1983, Al and his former spouse, Linda, welcomed their only daughter Kristy Lynn. He was a devoted father who loved playing with Kristy, teaching her new things, and sharing his interests with her (despite her aversion to mechanics). In 2014, Al gained a son to tinker on cars with, when Kristy married her husband Bishay. They spent hours under the hood of a vintage Lincoln, working on various home renovations, and solving the country’s political problems from the dinner table.
In 2019, Al became “Pop-Pop” to Kristy and Bishay’s firstborn, the late Elizabeth Eileen Faris. In 2020, Al became Pop-Pop again to a smart and curious granddaughter Evangeline “Evie” Elizabeth. Despite living in different states, Evie and Pop-Pop Facetimed throughout the week had their inside jokes and looked forward to sharing their news with each other. Al held many roles throughout his life, but being a grandfather was perhaps his favorite.
In the last few years of his life, Al spent much of his time with his girlfriend Janiece, traveling, working on cars, and sitting by the water. He also spent a great deal of time with his siblings, friends, and family- a testament to his commitment to those he loved. He was an involved Uncle, often mentoring his nieces and nephews by sharing his skills, tips, and tricks. While he is gone too soon, his words and lessons will live on in the advice that he shared and the relationships that he fostered. He will be greatly missed.
